My illness all started with muscle stiffness and numbness in my legs. By the time, I received a lumbar puncture; I was already in critical condition and placed on a respiratory machine. Everyone thought it was a spinal disc herniation and that the condition would never become critical. Little did they know that they were dealing with a rare condition called Guillain-Barre Syndrome.
